I get really excited, especially since a lot of people here ‘don’t care’ and I could easily sway them to like RP, but then I realize that everyone here has the mentality of:
“We need to be a Christian nation.”
Ugh so annoying.
It never was and it sure as heck is never going to be.
Then my excitement is all gone.
I must always remember Matthew 7:4 “How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?”. It’s just extremely frustrating when you see people all around you doing destructive things with their supposed “God Glorifying” life. I mean I’m not going to sit back and claim that I’m not a sinner, because I most definitely am. Some things I do in my personal life are sinful, but I don’t put on this fake presence of being “holier than thou” for lack of a better term. I’m notorious at this less-than-500-student-college for being ‘anti-social’. I spend loads of time in my dorm room. Why? Because I value my privacy and I cherish it. The only time I go out is to run errands and for work. My job entitles me to get paid to socialize, but that’s besides the subject. Point is. I need to do a better job at not pointing fingers at people when I, myself have areas in my life I can improve in.
Why would you come to Bible College if you’re just going to smoke and drink? I don’t understand. I talk about doing stupid stuff all the time, but do I ever actually do it? No. Why would you come to a BIBLE college to mess with the rules? Seriously? Do you think you’re above these rules? Do you think that you’re so much better than everyone else because you do “badass” things with your “badass” friends? I sure hope not, cause that mentality never got anyone anywhere. I just don’t understand people sometimes. People like YOU are the reason Christians get a bad name, people like YOU are the reason the word “Christian” has such a negative connotation towards it.
